Anti-HP- gamma antibody

HP-1gamma is a protein encoded by the CBX3 gene which is approximately 20,8 kDa. HP-1gamma is localised to the nucleus. It is involved in chromatin regulation and acetylation and gene expression. It seems to be involved in transcriptional silencing in heterochromatin-like complexes. It recognizes and binds histone H3 tails methylated at Lys-9, leading to epigenetic repression and may contribute to the association of the heterochromatin with the inner nuclear membrane through its interaction with the lamin B receptor. HP-1gamma is expressed in the nervous system, bone marrow, liver, lung and skin. STJ98892 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This primary antibody detects endogenous HP-1gamma protein.
